Dubai development.

Duabi or dubai city is located on the northern tip of the united arab emeritus on the persian gulf. it has been ruled
by the al maktoum dynasty since 1833 and has existed in its modern state since 1971. the current ruler is  mohammed bin rashid al maktoum, who is also the prime minister and vice president of the united arab emirates.
the rather small city has a population of 1.6 million people and a 37 billion USD economy based largely on trade, manufacturing and financial services.

Contrary to popular belief petrol and natural gas only make up a small percentage of revenues.
the city has gained world-wide attention in the past few years because of its booming economy and ambitious  architectural projects. with a focus on business and tourism, the city is ramping up construction on an unprecedented level. in fact, dubai is said to be home to 15% to 25% of the world's 125,000 construction cranes.

Don't think that the architectural expansion is over, because a slew of new project are on the table and in the works as we speak.

Burj Al Arad.
Crooked streets, buildings dull, dark corners, endless markets are supplied directly from old dhows that still sail from there on all the seas of the East: the spice souk, gold souk should be lean with sunglasses by excessive glare from the windows ... Dubai is, along with Beirut, the leading global gold market, but also the city that has more stores with products made of gold.
One of the oldest and winding neighborhoods, Shindagha, which still survive wind towers original (architectural system to cool the rooms below), is being restored to full speed. In fact, the obvious wealth of the emirate from not only oil, but a strange activity called re: purchase of goods from certain countries for resale to others. Keep in mind that the emirate is in a strategic point between East, West and East Africa. This display of goods explains the economic turmoil, the high number of large shopping centers where you can find everything. In fact, most visitors come to Dubai to buy.

The Broad. Diller Scofidio + Renfro.

The Broad by Diller Scofidio and Renfro

New York firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro have unveiled their design for a new Los Angeles museum for The Broad Art Foundation.

The Broad by Diller Scofidio and Renfro

This 24-foot-high space is fully flexible to be shaped into galleries, according to the curatorial needs of each installation or exhibition.

Visitors exit the exhibition space and descend back to the lobby through a winding stair through the vault that offers behind-the-scenes glimpses, through viewing windows, into the vast holdings of the Broad Collections and the foundation’s lending library operations.

“Our goal for the museum is to hold its ground next to Gehry’s much larger and very exuberant Walt Disney Concert Hall through contrast,” Diller said.

“As opposed to Disney Hall’s smooth and shiny exterior that reflects light, The Broad will be porous and absorptive, channeling light into its public spaces and galleries. The veil will play a role in the urbanization of Grand Avenue by activating two-way views that connect the museum and the street”.
The Broad by Diller Scofidio and Renfro

Called The Broad, the three-storey museum will incorporate gallery space, a 200-seat lecture theatre multimedia gallery, public lobby and museum shop, plus archive, study and art storage space.

The building will be wrapped in a honeycomb facade that will be visible from the sky-lit top floor gallery.

The Broad Art Foundation Unveils Museum Designs
Philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad and architect Elizabeth Diller today unveiled the designs of The Broad Art Foundation, a contemporary art museum on Grand Avenue in downtown Los Angeles.
Designed by world-renowned architects Diller Scofidio + Renfro, the three-story museum features a unique porous honeycomb “veil” that wraps the building and is visible through an expansive, top floor sky-lit gallery that will be home to great works of contemporary art drawn from the 2,000-piece Broad Collections.
The Broads also announced a 12-member board of governors and the inaugural programming for the contemporary art museum, to be called “The Broad.”
“Today, we celebrate another important milestone – the creation of a new museum 40 years in the making,” said Eli Broad, who was flanked by more than 200 city and county officials and community leaders as he revealed the designs for The Broad at a press conference at Walt Disney Concert Hall. “Grand Avenue is the cultural district for this great region of 15 million people. No other city in the world has such a concentration of visual and performing arts institutions and iconic architecture in a three-block radius. Edye and I can think of no better home for the public art collections we have assembled over the past 40 years.”

Located across the street from Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Museum of Contemporary Art, The Broad will also serve as the headquarters for the foundation’s worldwide art lending library. In addition to paying for the building, the Broads are funding the museum with a $200 million endowment – larger than the combined endowments of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and MOCA. Joanne Heyler, the director/chief curator of The Broad Art Foundation, will also serve as director of the museum.
Featuring almost an acre of column-free gallery space, a lecture hall for up to 200 people, a ground floor multimedia gallery and a public lobby with display space and a museum shop, the 120,000-square-foot project will also include state-of-the-art archive, study and art storage space that will be available to scholars and curators who want to research works in the collection and borrow artworks for their institutions through The Broad Art Foundation.
The Broad by Diller Scofidio and Renfro
Dubbed “the veil and the vault,” the museum’s design merges the two key components of the building: public exhibition space and the archive/storage that will support The Broad Art Foundation’s lending activities. Rather than relegate the archive/storage to secondary status, the “vault,” plays a key role in shaping the museum experience from entry to exit. Its heavy opaque mass is always in view, hovering midway in the building. Its carved underside shapes the lobby below, while its top surface is the floor of the exhibition space.
The vault is enveloped on all sides by the “veil,” an airy, cellular exoskeleton structure that spans across the block-long gallery and provides filtered natural daylight. The public entry to the museum will be on Grand Avenue and will complement the landscaped plaza to the south that is part of the Grand Avenue Project’s master plan. The museum’s “veil” lifts at the corners, welcoming visitors into an active lobby with a bookshop and espresso bar. Visitors will then journey upwards via an escalator, tunneling through the archive, arriving onto 40,000 square feet of column-free exhibition space bathed in diffuse light.

Because there are a lot of traffic in the area, considered the house, which is closed from the outside as much as possible, but still maintain its open space, without any pressure from the separation from the outside.
People can feel a bigger place increasing if they could not determine the size of it, such as the sky and the ocean. In other words, people think that a space is great when he felt the area as if the act goes on forever. "There's a ladder in the center of the house. It is surrounded by walls of a building as another, and is built to the ceiling. It stands as a core of the house. The backbone of all the rooms are connected like everyone else. The spaces are placed at random with various levels and angles. The inner layers of the rooms is like a place under a tree with leaves like a cave in a mountain.

Place on top of each room could also involve people as terraces. White Bay, Bussines and Comercial District in Alicante. Duran Blazquez Architects. Modena Architecture.

Modena Architecture is a Spanish firm led by  Duran Blazquez architects. This firm develops a cutting-edge design project in southern Spain.

Alicante is a city of Valencia (Spain), capital of the region of the lands of Alicante and of the eponymous province, situated on the Mediterranean coast, is the second largest city of Valencia in Spain and eleventh. Its population is 334,757 inhabitants (INE 2009) and forms a conurbation of 452,462 inhabitants in the neighboring towns of San Vicente del Raspeig, San Juan de Alicante, Muchamiel and Campello. Belongs to the metropolitan area of Alicante-Elche, with 757,443 inhabitants. It is a city to tourism and services.

This city due to their resort is an enclave of culture, vacation spot for citizens of other countries and especially for European citizens of Nordic countries, Russia, England and Germany.

Despite the crisis engulfing the country, are developing draft urban projects that still need several years of development due to administrative processes.

Elements of urban development:

The project develops part of a residential, business and shopping in the city of Alicante.
Although the percentage of per capita m2 of commercial areas in the city, as in other south of the peninsula is high, the developer committed to creating a shopping area with an avant-garde looking reference an international rather than local or regional.

The project works over the concept of urban development of middle income residential high-buildable blocks wide, linked to the development of a commercial area in the city reference.

The location of the sector in an area of urban expansion and commercial dynamism and tourism in the area are the keys to bet promoter.

The first floor will house shops and restaurants connected to an adjacent mall, the buildings near the main square is filled with apartments.

The program is a mix of boutique shops, Business Centers, cafes and homes.

The street and the park will be connected through a foreign city tour closely tied to sources and other recreational spaces, so that external routes themselves generate a meeting space in an area very close to the Mediterranean Sea.

Baja 4 plants are connected to a shopping mall. The buildings closest to the area reserved for apartments.

The square and the outdoor complex offers spectacular views of the old town and castle.

Outlying areas of this public space is shaped like outdoor cafe.

As fashionable as well as buildings change through the season: autumn winter appearance is due to the use of cooler colors. In the spring colors are modified in the facades and peripheral light through the exterior is green in some areas.

The urban development marks a beginning for future development of the city of Alicante in the coming years. Thus, the Central Business District is a model for the transformation process must take place in the cities of southern Spain and his race for a distinct identity in the changing economic climate. Like many other cities economically applicants in Spain, Alicante faces the challenge of establishing an urban identity that unites local traditions with the most innovative ideas for future business.

Alicante on the other hand has the Altet airport (also known as Alicante airport despite being located in the neighboring city of Elche), which is today the most profitable airport in Spain by the massive influx of tourists throughout the year .

Moreover, the seaport city, is a reference port of both goods and tourist traffic through the cruise ships.
