Sarah Jessica Parker showed off her sartorial style.

Sarah Jessica Parker showed off her sartorial style at the premiere of her new movie I Don’t Know How She Does It wearing a stunning strapless gown and matching cape from designer Giambattista Valli’s first couture collection and the taupe Alex Lion Paw pumps from the Christian Louboutin Autumn 2011 collection.

We gushed over SJP’s gown, which channeled former First Lady Jacqueline Onasis Kennedy but then we saw her feet and had to take a step back.

Yes she got all cheeky on us with cat claws on her feet.  This look was definitely a Carrie Bradshaw moment for her but the effort is definitely appreciated.  Only eight of the Christian Louboutin Alex Lion Paw Pumps were made available in the United States.  With the price tag of $4,995, the least Louboutin could do was add some bling to the heel by way of Swarovski.  The gown covered up the shoes for the most part, but we couldn’t help but think SJP could have switched shoes for this ultra glamorous gown.  One this is for sure thought, SJP and her stylist sure know how to have fun with fashion.

The ALDO Rise collection, featuring shoes designed by Preen.

The ALDO Rise collection, featuring shoes designed by Preen, JW Anderson, Libertine and Mark Fast are available worldwide.  The initiative is ALDO’s way of bringing to the masses the ideas of daring talents in fashion.  For the spring 2012 launch, each designer has created a collection based on their latest collections.  Each shoe will retail for $150.

Faster by Mark Fast: The Mark Fast x ALDO RISE collection showcases the intricately handcrafted elements of Fast’s ready-to-wear line. “I took inspiration from a bit of tribal and metallic glam,” says Fast. The heeled style features his iconic cut-out details and comes in 4 bold colors.

Preen: London-based duo Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi won rave reviews for their SS12 runway collection with footwear playing an essential role. ”We are very excited about this collaboration,” said the pair. “The shoes have a very Preen look. Proportion, color and texture are key.” The Preen x ALDO RISE collection will feature 4 styles in a range of colorways. From heels with pops of neon to mules with a pixilated print with heel shapes that carry the same design sophistication akin to architecture.

JW Anderson: JW Anderson was inspired by structured heels and feather details for his SS12 collection with ALDO RISE. “Like Rauschenberg, it’s a patchwork of textures,” Anderson said to describe the feminine styles that mix stripes with feathers and demure ankle straps with lace-up elements.

Libertine: With experience collaborating with the likes of art star, Damien Hirst, Libertine designer Johnson Hartig brought just the right mix of creativity and SoCal ease to the design table. “I’ve been looking at a lot of Cy Twombley, swimming in the ocean, and making driftwood sculptures and voila; graphic stripey shoes!” True to his “stripey” inspiration, the two footwear and two bag styles in the Libertine x ALDO RISE collection displays totally different takes on the use of horizontal and vertical stripes.

Rachel Zoe and Tyra Banks are off on another television venture.

Rachel Zoe and Tyra Banks are off on another television venture and now, they want scripts instead of reality. Both Zoe and Banks have signed on to have comedies scripted about their lives (in addition to their current TV shows) for NBC and ABC, respectively.

Tyra Banks (the model/author/producer/talkshow host/expert smizer) will be creating a show about her forehead and her awkward teenage years titled Fivehead. What’s a fivehead? You must have not watched The Tyra Show but let Tyra explain, “In high school, if you have glasses, you’re a ‘four eyes’, if you have braces, you’re a ‘metal mouth’ but if you had my forehead? You’re a FIVEHEAD.” Of course!

As for Rachel Zoe, in addition to the fifth season of The Rachel Zoe Project—which tracks her life as a designer and stylist—her scripted comedy will be a 30-minute show loosely based on her life for NBC.

With no expected dates set for the launch of these shows, we’ll just have to sit back relax and watch their other shows. Is it wrong that we kind of wish they were fashion cartoons?

Hermès at Artcurial

A few times a year, the Artcurial auction house in Paris hosts a sale of vintage Hermès. Accessories make up the bulk of the goodies, but among the scarves, riding crops and 50s-era Kelly and Birkin bags—the sales' bread and butter—in the upcoming auction on October 30, Artcurial will make available a selection of unique jewelry pieces.

The most phenomenal of these include a rare gold-faced padlock watch on a leather strap (€700-900) and a scarab beetle brooch made from tiger's eye quartz (€2,000-3,000). Hermès

Hedi Slimane Shoots Anja Rubik for Saint Laurent

Hedi Slimane's spartan style as a photographer is well-paired with his sculptural sartorial vision for Saint Laurent. Behold his campaign images of Anja Rubik wearing—or not, in some cases—key pieces from his debut spring 2013 collection. Of course, it helps if your model is statuesque and your setting is like something out of Versailles.

Lana Del Rey: H&M Campaign images has been released!

Lana Del Rey has brought her perfect pout back out for the second installment of H&M ads. For the winter campaign, the sultry songstress has taken to a parking garage to flaunt the latest and greatest from the Swedish company.

With her hair as big as always (‘big beauty queen style’ if you will), Lana Del Rey wears leather pants and models moto jackets, blue puffer jackets, and oversized sweaters. The new campaign feels more editorial than the first and proves that Lana Del Rey’s fashion career is just getting warmed up.

Lana Del Rey is everywhere right now. She recently released the music video (read: short film) for the song ‘Ride’, leaks of her newest songs (bad for her, but good for us) and now this campaign. Now the question on our minds is, what song will she cover for this campaign?

Christopher Kane collection

Christopher Kane, spring 13
Christopher Kane's scary print strikes again. This time, for spring, the honor goes to Frankenstein's monster—and it wasn't just prints.

His thuggish mug lurked on several pieces, while nuts and bolts formed much of the buttons and hardware leading up to a striking duct-taped number that closed an otherwise pristine, church-ready collection. It was a little like Franken-Easter as Sunday-white and pretty pastel dresses gave way to Mary Shelley's creation—the 1931 film portrayal of him—suggesting that narratives are alive and well in fashion shows.

Dior Collecttion.

Raf Simons had several daunting tasks in the run-up to his hotly anticipated pret-a-porter debut for Dior. Fundamentally, he had to find a way of combining the house's archives with his own pared-down style and appetite for bracing pops of color. On top of that, he's had to consider, or deliberately eliminate, references to John Galliano's long tenure, while not alienating the house's loyal clientele. He's also had to acknowledge his Dior couture collection in June, and perhaps also his final collection at Jil Sander. Then there is the fact that to his most faithful fans, he is an avant-garde men's designer with a penchant for gritty graphics.

The result was a balanced and measured spring collection, a fusion of familiar elements punctuated by moments of new brilliance. If Simons had been feeling pulled in a million directions, it rarely showed in the clothes.

The first to emerge were lean tuxedo suits, followed by flouncy mini-dresses and extra-short shorts. A series of knotted short dresses in iridescent pastels came next, an evocative mix of rave culture and prom night. Paillette appliques resembling Rorschach tests appeared here and there, as did asymmetric pleating, color-blocking, wide horizontal stripes, and long tulle overlays that could've been taken straight from the Dior archives, culminating with flower-print ball gowns worn with tight black T-shirts.

The overall effect was one of forward-looking boldness without a wisp of disrespect or insensitivity—just the way Monsieur Dior would have wanted it, and just the way Dior execs surely hoped for.
