Translation and mirroring geological rock slow flow and active currents and streams above, the architects devised a comprehensive site conceptual framework and strategy capacity in which the building becomes a kind of ship and the bridge that appears to arise from the natural landscape and topography slope. As the house takes shape and the volume turns and bridges across the rolling landscape that very directly to the bottom and the side of the house itself is built on. Adequate housing (wood structure) sits above and is supported on the slopes on both sides of the living room / dining room "bridge" of two opposing bases concrete / reinforcement / structure fire with two chimneys. The prospect of the introductory section shows the strategy of this key site and create more vivid and accurate.
The shape of the housing and password "intertwined" interior, dual zone living room (outer + / + top-down view the conceptual model of assembly / drawing), and are open on both sides and became parallel to the open prairie, the bottom of the Housatonic River valley below. The living room / dining room and vertical wells stair lights are a wonderful example of a type of camera lucida or view camera that makes continuous adjustment of internal relations (ritual functions, activities,) with external conditions (natural site , views, climate change, light and air). It is in these moments, in these chambers of the house creates a world of life suspended between earth and air.
Estructural and design.
The structural concept of the bridge allows the landscape to run directly through and under the building. This sense of suspension, produces enough of a "loose fit" and the interplay between nature and convention unexpected alliances emerge. The house is between a tree house, camping and cave all in one.
